Evaluation

The visual communication and message meets the needs in this project by showing well what the piece is about. The illustration that I have done links well to the theme and I think that I have portrayed it well within the text also. All three parts of this project that I have done communicate well and to show this I also put them in public advertising spots where I thought they would fit well and I think I succeeded in this part. The way that I think it didn’t meet the brief is that I chose not to do the whole POS kit that Triumph would typically use. Although I think that they way I have done the kit works just as well with communication.  The strengths in my piece I think are the illustration pieces, because I think it’s different to most bra shop advertisements. A lot of bra companies have photographs of ladies in sets from the shop, which I think works but I thought something different would be beneficial for my design. The weaknesses that my pieces have are the small details in which it took me to get the correct typeface. I wanted to keep the designs similar to what Triumph already design. The way that I think that my POS kit could be mis-read or mis-understood is that the drawing might come across as not as much to do with a bra fitting service, you need to read the small sections of writing to know what they are about. The way that this piece could be improved or developed is that I could do some more illustration to the ladies. I really like the simplicity of them, but other people might not get it so soon, as everyone’s perception of art.

My time keeping in this task I found quite difficult. I became quite ill so there was a lot of time wasted at the start of the project. I found that after I felt better I picked up pace quite well and managed to get on without hesitation. I divided my time up well with each task. Making sure that I had a good amount of knowledge on what it was I wanted to do. My analysis of the brief was good, as for this task I needed to look at 5 briefs before I chose which one to take forward there was a lot that I needed to take in. I think that this brief analysis was good and I understood what was being asked of me. My research was also good; I did a lot of advertising research and also some information on Maslow pyramid theory, which helped me decide where the adverts lay. The parts of the project that I enjoyed the most were the designing. I did a lot of illustrations for this and that’s what I like doing most. I like to link drawing and digital together as I think it makes apiece more interesting and personal to a client that the piece was made especially for them. The part of the project that I enjoyed the least was the deciding which brief to do. I found it hard, as there was so many. The times that I work best was when I knew the direction I wanted to take the project in I was happy to sit and get on with it for hours on end. The areas that inspired me were looking at other adverts; I think this is the best way to get inspiration. Looking at the Triumph website also was good because I can look at the poses and images that they use for advertising.
